Primary aldosteronism (PA) is commonly referred to in the medical literature as Conn’s syndrome, because Jerome Conn, who described this syndrome in a female patient with aldosterone-secreting adenoma in 1955, is considered its discoverer [1]. However, two years earlier, Michał Lityński published, in Polish, a description of two cases of males who had died from renal failure in the course of malignant hypertension caused by adrenal cortex tumours [2].
