In this issue of the Journal, Korzeniowska--Kubacka et al. [1] present a study of the effect of exercise training on diastolic dysfunction in patients with a history of myocardial infarction and normal systolic function. This study is important because all forms of organic heart disease are associated with a component of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction, but we still do not have effective therapeutic interventions for patients with diastolic dysfunction.
